The Conquest of the Philosopher
Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978) (1888-1978)
As the son of a railroad engineer this painter followed his father in the concern of trains and their timing. He is perfectly right painting the surrealist reality of the twentiest century as a matter of trains and clocks. After all it is railroadtime that dominates our zonetimesocieties. Does anyone want to travel or shall we say beautiful and take it to the museum? That would be a good place for the mean- and zonetime mechanical distortion of natural dynamics. Is the philosopher conquered by mechanical materialism, or is the philosopher perverted that way conquering the earth? Why should it be philosophy at all respecting the time and traveling by train? The two arti-shocks keep wondering. Atchive-info
